ClickCoach

ClickCoach is a new nonprofit resource for classical, musical theatre, and jazz musicians to share knowledge and make money. Professional musicians upload videos on a variety of topics, including techique. tips and tricks, opinions, discussion of pieces, score errors, and more. The ClickCoach team curates these videos, which are then available to rent for $1.99 per 30 days.

75% of rental fees go directly to the artist, who also has the option to donate proceeds to an artist relief fund. Additionally, ClickCoach donates 1% of annual earnings to under-resourced communities, and also works with these communities to ensure that its resources are available to them.

Steve Crawford

Steve Crawford has conducted at the Metropolitan Opera, Kentucky, Dayton, Opera Roanoke, Opera Idaho, Chautauqua, and many others. He has worked at numerous young artist programs, and coaches in Manhattan. I particularly love working Italian repertoire with Steve, but watch out --- he is famous for his sly musical puns.

Acting Coach Marc Verzatt

I am pleased and proud to call director and acting coach Marc Verzatt a longtime mentor and friend. I've known him since my apprentice days at Chicago Lyric Opera, where he was an assistant director, and I hire him to teach acting to my Spotlight on Opera students. Marc has a unique perspective and system for coaching singers and helping them achieve the performances they want to achieve. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Marcie Stapp and Teddys Music Press

Marcie Stapp is one of the opera industry’s treasures. Renowned coach, translator, editor of the famed Nico Castel opera translation volumes, and faculty at San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she is also the author of The Singer’s Guide to Languages, an illustrated diction volume written especially for singers. More recently, she has published Airplane, a fun and stimulating game designed to introduce and teach IPA. She also has a library of original opera translations, including Carmen, Hansel & Gretel, Così fan tutte, and many more.

A word of warning: Ms. Stapp is old school. She does have a website, but does not accept electronic inquiries or orders. Visit Teddys Music Press here, and call (415) 681–7625 for info or orders.
